Job displacement’s long-run effect on access to employer-provided health insurance and other fringe benefits

Nicholas Jolly and Brian J. Phelan

Economics Letters, 2015, vol. 130, issue C, 100-104

Abstract: This paper investigates the effect of job displacement on access to employer-provided fringe benefits. We find that displacement is associated with lost access to all seven employer-provided benefits investigated. These losses increase the cost of displacement by 10% per year.
