A stochastic model describing the number of male insects which are left without partners

Yasumasa Saisho

Ecological Modelling, 2007, vol. 207, issue 2, 155-158

Abstract: The males of some insect species mate several times, and the multi-mating of females may be exceptional. Thus, some males are left without partners when the sex ratio is close to one. In this paper, we propose a stochastic model of matings and analyze the copulation rate of males.
