A case study in joint development: The Saudia Arabia-Kuwait partitioned neutral zone

Energy, 1985, vol. 10, issue 3, 539-544
Abstract:
The joint development of the petroleum resources of the Partitioned Neutral Zone set many general and specific precedents. A State interested in a common petroleum deposit may not unilaterally exploit it to the detriment of another interested State. Law and economic common sense require consensual joint development of international common petroleum reserves. Actual development can only proceed in a politically stable and settled situation.
