Abstract:
A combined model of the oil refining-transportation sector has been used to quantify the economics of producing unleaded gasoline blends with Oxinol and MTBE as octane enhancers. The value of the additives was determined in the liquid-fuel market. Several scenarios were included to assess blending options, capital investment for refining capacity, crude oil, and transport-fuel slates.
