Abstract:
The combined gasoline and distillate yield has been studied at various gasoline:distillate ratios using an integrated model of the oil refining-transportation sector. The method used allowed quantification of the yield loss incurred in the transition from leaded to unleaded gasoline production and also of the additional capacity requirements of existing and new processing units. It is shown that capital investment in hydrocracking, delayed coking and distillate dewaxing facilities can substantially restore the yield.
