The future of the world oil market

Abstract:
There is expected to be little growth in demand for oil in Japan until the end of the century. Thus, oil's share of total energy demand is also expected to drop. A gradual “whitening” of product mix demand is expected as well, with some consequent problems in the refinery sector. The Japanese government is addressing these problems through several policy measures, including consolidation of the Japanese petroleum industries.
