Abstract:
Malaysian total energy reserves amount to 11.4 billion barrels' oil equivalent (Bboe) comprising gas (7.1 Bboe), oil (2.6 Bb), and coal (1.7 Bboe). Gas utilization is the main thrust of energy diversification. Current gas utilization projects include a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant, a urea plant, a 900-megawatt power plant, and a steel mill of 600 thousand tons' (Mt) capacity per year.
