Abstract:
We examine economically exploitable resources for the utilization of bio-gas and evaluate the economics of the two most common types of bio-gas plants being used in Nepal. A community-size bio-gas plant is preferable to a family-size plant. The impact of bio-gas development in the Terai Zone of Nepal is considered and economic benefits provided to the nation as a whole are examined. Promotion of bio-gas plants will reduce the pressure on the forests of Nepal.
