Status and progress in solar thermal research and technology

B.P. Gupta

Energy, 1987, vol. 12, issue 3, 187-196

Abstract: Substantial progress has been made in various solar thermal technologies. Components and systems have reached different states of maturity for various types of solar thermal systems. Data are now being obtained from operating systems in the United States and other countries. These data have identified the future research needed to realize the full potential of the solar resource. This paper describes the status of solar thermal technologies and progress in solar thermal research to achieve long-term performance and cost goals.
