Dissolution of CO2 in geothermal fluids

John Haraden

Energy, 1988, vol. 13, issue 9, 689-690

Abstract: Geothermal fluids frequently contain large concentrations of dissolved CO2. As the fluids rise in the wellbore, the fluid pressure diminishes and CO2 and steam come out of solution. We model that dissolution and provide an algorithm for finding the wellhead concentrations of CO2 in both the gaseous and liquid states.
