Estimates of growth rates for municipal-waste incineration and environmental control costs for coal utilization in the U.S

Energy, 1989, vol. 14, issue 12, 961-963

Abstract: We use the logistics curve to estimate likely future growth rates for applications of municipal waste incinerators. A similar procedure is applied to show that current trends suggest that 59 and 76% of total capital costs will be required by the years 2000 and 2010, respectively, for environmental controls of coal burners.
