Energy, 1989, vol. 14, issue 2, 61-65

Abstract: We present the energy-use pattern and energy flow for an electrified village in Bangladesh. The energy used by the three socio-economic groups of farms (small, medium and large) is not the same. Energy used in crop production on large farms is greater than that used on small and medium-sized farms. The energy input for irrigation on small farms is greater than that on medium-sized and large farms. Fertilizer has been found to be the largest component of the energy input for crop production.
