Prediction of the fuel consumption of petrol and diesel vehicles from a computer-simulation model

Hazim K. Al-Omishy

Energy, 1989, vol. 14, issue 9, 563-570

Abstract: A computer-simulation model (using car-following theory, a constrained random input, and regression equations) was developed to predict the fuel consumption of petrol and diesel vehicles for a free-flow situation. The simulation model provides data for the formation of regression equations relating fuel consumption to vehicle speed for each body type and duty cycle.
