Abstract:
The energetics of soybean-wheat crop rotation under the rainfed conditions of Central India have been worked out and compared with the traditional practice of fallow-wheat. The energy output-input ratio for soybean-wheat rotation is 8.45 vs 6.90 for the traditional monocropping practice. Soybean-wheat rotation also offers more and year-round employment for manual labourers.
