Experimental studies on upward-type double-effect solar distillers

Ho-Ming Yeh and Lie-Chaing Chen

Energy, 1990, vol. 15, issue 2, 123-129

Abstract: Application of the multiple-effect concept to the direct utilization of solar energy in upward-type distillers has been investigated experimentally. It is found that an upward-type, double-effect solar still is more effective than a downward-type still because it may create free-convection while reusing energy.
