Abstract:
We present Huq's model of integrated rural energy systems in revised form. The model forms the basis for the development of a computer model based on the system dynamics methodology of Forrester for policy planning. The model has been constructed to integrate crop production, biogas production, and rural forest and agro-based industries with the aim of optimizing edible, saleable and inflammable outputs to improve the quality of life. We also present Huq's revised model for a village in Bangladesh and discuss the simulated results for policy changes and implications of the model.
