Abstract:
Currently, there are different trends in Agency Member States for technology improvements in nuclear power reactors and reactor designs. The overall objectives of these improvements are further plant cost reduction, better plant performance, and enhanced safety features. Development directions include simplification in plant design, ease of maintenance, reduction of construction time by modularization and shop fabrication, and utilization of passive safety features.
