Evolution of HTGR coated particle fuel design

Abstract: This paper provides a survey of the evolution of the HTGR fuel element design in the USA, Federal Republic of Germany, UK (OECD), and Japan. The coated particle design is described in detail. The development of the kernel composition is discussed. The current status of the coated particle design and performance is reviewed.
