Abstract:
The results of experiments in oxygen/graphite, steam/ graphite, and water/graphite systems provide information on aerosol formation in case of hypothetical accidents in high temperature reactors. The particle mass concentrations and size distributions were measured over a temperature range for the different corrosive media. The aerosol parameters are discussed in terms of the physical phenomena that occur during the aerosol forming corrosion process.
