Maximum conversion efficiency for the utilization of diffuse solar radiation

V. Bădescu

Energy, 1991, vol. 16, issue 4, 783-786

Abstract: The maximum efficiency for the utilization of diffuse solar radiation ranges between 0.053 and 0.474 for non-selective and strongly-selective converters, respectively. Petela's formula gives an accurate upper bound for both selective and non-selective converters, if an appropriate equivalent blackbody temperature is defined for the sky.
