Design study of a solar candle device for melting wax

Abstract: A design study of a solar candle device has been carried-out to investigate the effect of melting-chamber thickness on the melting of wax in one shift. The melting-chamber with a uniform thickness of 70 mm gave the best results and had an efficiency of 42.5%.
