Efficiency of solar air heaters with baffles

Yeh Ho-Ming and Chou Wen-Hsen

Energy, 1991, vol. 16, issue 7, 983-987

Abstract: Considerable improvement in the collector efficiency of solar air heaters is obtained if the fins in the collector are provided with attached baffles to create air turbulence and an extended heat-transfer area. This procedure will increase the pressure drop for the air across the heater and thereby leads to some increase in the power consumption.
