Abstract:
Analytical results are presented for the design parameters of a sensible-heat storage system, controlled by one-dimensional, transient, conjugate heat conduction. The governing equations are solved using an integral method and closed-form solutions are obtained, which depend only on a non-dimensional parameter B. For large B, sensible-heat storage is large; during the period of conjugation, the temperature at the conjugated surface for a given B remains unaltered. The validity of our approximate solution is verified.
