Theory of baffled solar air heaters

Yeh Ho-Ming

Energy, 1992, vol. 17, issue 7, 697-702

Abstract: Considerable improvement in the collector efficiency of solar air heaters can be obtained if the fins in the collector have attached baffles to create air turbulence and an extended heat-transfer area. In this paper, energy balances in baffled solar air heaters have been developed and a theoretical equation for estimating the collector efficiency has been derived.
