A model of the energy-supply and demand system at the village level

Abstract: The network diagram of an energy-supply and demand system is drawn, as well as a linear optimized model of energy integrated in the economy. The target is the least cost of energy supply and the best energy-supply structure. An SD model is built to predict and study long-term changes of the system. Finally, the two models are combined and applied to a village with a population of 800 people in the North China Plain. Results of computer simulation show that in the base year (1990) if energy-transformation devices are properly installed, the cost of the supply system will reach the lowest level while meeting the energy demand and some energy is saved. With development of the economy and a rise of living standard, energy supply will become an important factor for rural economic development. Alternative plans to simulate the system yield different results for the influence on the economy.
