Abstract:
New gross energy requirements (GER) have been calculated for 40 materials for the reference year 1988. The materials comprise metals, plastics, paper, ceramics and non-metallic minerals, wood, and fertilizers. GERs are given both for the final (distinguished with respect to energy carriers) and primary energy consumption. Most of the GERs hold for Western Europe but some only apply to The Netherlands.
