Abstract:
The effects of various fin shapes on solar collector efficiency and material cost have been investigated. A heat-transfer analysis for fins used in an aluminium flat-plate solar collector has been performed. Heat fluxes were considered for only one side of the fins. Fin and/or collector efficiencies vs fin-tip heat-loss parameter and fin length were calculated. An economic evaluation is given.
