Abstract:
The design and performance of the Ghazlan power plant (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) are described. The study is based on first- and second-law analyses. A full exergy analysis is carried out to identify the potential for improving the plant efficiency. The exergy analysis shows a detailed breakdown of exergy losses for the different plant components. Alternative arrangements to improve the efficiency are suggested.
