M.A. Habib, S.A.M. Said and J.J. Al-Bagawi

Energy, 1995, vol. 20, issue 11, 1121-1130

Abstract: The design and performance of the Ghazlan power plant (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) are described. The study is based on first- and second-law analyses. A full exergy analysis is carried out to identify the potential for improving the plant efficiency. The exergy analysis shows a detailed breakdown of exergy losses for the different plant components. Alternative arrangements to improve the efficiency are suggested.
