Abstract: This paper provides the modeling and control of stator active and reactive power for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) under wind turbine systems using a variable structure control theory called Sliding Mode Control (SMC). The classical sliding mode method achieves undesirable chattering effect, which can damage the system. For this, it is relevant to use the second-order sliding mode algorithms to avoid this chattering.
