J.P. Meyer and M. Tshimankinda

Energy, 1996, vol. 21, issue 12, 1101-1106

Abstract: Hot water consumption in traditional houses in the developing communities of Johannesburg is determined by means of measurements over a period of one year. The consumption per person per day is presented for the different months of a year. Also, hourly hot water consumption per person per day is presented as a function of summer weekdays, summer weekends, winter weekdays and winter weekends. Results of hot water consumption of the developing communities are also compared to consumptions in the developed communities.
