Abstract:
Entropy generation due to laminar mixed heat convection from an isothermal heated cylinder in an air cross flow has been evaluated numerically for different values of the Reynolds number, buoyancy parameter, and cylinder diameter. Large cylinder diameters resulted in lower entropy generation. A guide is given to cylinder-diameter selection based on the value of the Reynolds number and the buoyancy parameter.
