Abstract:
We evaluate thermal and chemical pollution in terms of wasted exergies entering the environment. Calculations for nepheline processing are carried out as an example. Advantages of using complex raw-material processing and multi-product outputs are illustrated on the basis of energy-efficiency improvements and reduction of environmental impact.
