Abstract:
Bangladesh is an energy-scarce country. Rural people depend on traditional energy sources from trees, crop residues and livestock. We present the state of rural energy and its utilization in Bangladesh. Imported commercial energy is utilized in rural areas for lighting and running small industries. The consumption of kerosene and other commercial fuel in rural areas is also presented.
