The efficiency of consumption poverty alleviation and improvement measures in Guizhou, China

Abstract:
This study aims to measure the efficiency of consumption poverty alleviation (CPA) in Guizhou Province, China. Using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model, we analyzed the data of 20 counties in Guizhou Province that have been alleviated from poverty from 2017 to 2020. Under the DEA model, the specific input indicator system is constructed from the perspective of the supply chain of CPA. After calculating the efficiency of 20 counties, it can be found that four counties are relatively efficient, whereas other counties still have room for improvement. Additionally, by learning from the CPA policies of relatively efficient counties and making corresponding adjustments, the remaining counties can achieve different degrees of improvement in the efficiency of CPA; that is, the relevant policies have practical significance.
