Abstract:
An optimization procedure of a hybrid photovoltaic wind energy system is presented which can be used to satisfy the requirements of a given load distribution. An analysis is applied to satisfy a constant load of 5 kW required for cathodic protection in offshore platforms. The results show that the optimal solar/wind ratio that will achieve the minimum capital cost is 70%.
