The utilisation of short term energy storage with tidal current generation systems

I.g Bryden and D.m Macfarlane

Energy, 2000, vol. 25, issue 9, 893-907

Abstract: This paper is an investigation into how the coupling of tidal current turbines with energy storage mechanisms could result in an effective firm supply capacity. It is shown that the cyclic nature the tidal current resource ensures that even relatively small storage capacities could prove effective.
