Energy, 2023, vol. 284, issue C

Abstract: This paper introduces a novel design of a speed amplified flux switching linear generator for the power take-off unit of an ocean wave energy converter. The design incorporates several innovative features, including semi-closed stator iron cores, four coil phases shifting, and a fixed pulley wheel mechanism. These enhancements aim to increase the generator's output power and reduce its cogging force. The fixed pulley wheel mechanism effectively doubles the relative speed of the translator with respect to the stators.
