Abstract:
As an important component of the Stirling-type pulse tube cryocooler (SPTC), an efficient phase shifter can significantly improve the cooling capacity. This paper is based on a single-stage SPTC with a compressor and a phase shifter integrated structure in the liquid nitrogen temperature. A novel structure of through rod is adopted in the arrangement of compression piston and displacer with work-recovery, which greatly improves space utilization and stability. Force analysis and simulation of the displacer is researched. The results indicate that changes in the stiffness and frequency of the displacer can cause a phase relationship deviation in the cold end of the cryocooler, thus having the optimal value. Through experimental verification, under this structure, the optimal stiffness of flexure spring in displacer is around 10000 N/m, and the optimal frequency is around 77 Hz. When the cryocooler obtains 30 W at 80 K, the total input electric power is 360 W, with a relative Carnot efficiency (rCOP) of 21.35 %. The integrated cryocooler researched in this article has the advantages of high efficiency, compact structure, and small weight, which lays the foundation for the space application of large cooling capacity SPTC based on displacer with work-recovery in liquid nitrogen temperature.
