Abstract: Fractures are the primary flow and heat exchange channels in Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGSs). Fracture evolution caused by water-rock reactions significantly affects the thermal performance of EGS. However, previous studies treated fractures as smooth and only considered the evolution of fracture aperture under individual mineral's water-rock reactions. The objective of this study is to investigate the influence of multi-mineral water-rock interaction mechanisms and rough fracture morphology on the thermal performance of EGS. A Thermal-Hydraulic-Chemical (THC) coupled model considering multi-mineral water-rock interaction and rough fractures is established to explore the effect of these factors. Meanwhile, the optimal heat extraction plan of the THC coupled model was obtained through the NSGA-II multi-objective optimization algorithm. The results indicate that the pressure difference between injection-production wells would be underestimated by 34.71 % over 30 years of production and the hydraulic conductivity of the reservoir would be overestimated by 2 times when multi-mineral water-rock interaction is ignored. Compared to real rough fractures, the pressure difference and system life are overestimated by 41.55 % and 2.41 years for smooth fractures. Compared to the base case, the optimized scheme reduces the pressure difference by 3.126 MPa (31.70 %) and only decreases power generation by 0.39 MW (23.20 %). This study provides important guidance for the accurate prediction and development of EGSs.
