Abstract:
An open-winding PMSM drive system fed by a dual inverter with an isolated DC bus is a competitive option for dual-power electric vehicles. This system allows manageable power allocation between two power sources with different voltages through the motor without a DC‒DC converter. Based on the dynamic model of the OW-PMSM and dual-inverter power allocation principles, this paper investigates the optimization of the stator current and its dynamic control. Two stator current planning algorithms are proposed to minimize the motor losses in the steady state and to maximize the power allocation range of the dual inverter. Then, an integrated sliding mode control scheme is proposed to guarantee the smooth switch of the two stator current reference vectors, during which the electromagnetic torque ripple is reduced and the control stability is enhanced. The simulation and experimental results confirm the validity of the proposed methods and demonstrate their advantages in vehicular applications.
