Energy, 2025, vol. 329, issue C

Abstract: A fusion tip structure is proposed to investigate the relationship between the change in tip structure and the vibration and noise of the wind turbine. This structure allows for adjusting the folding angle of the wind turbine's tip. A comprehensive set of tests comparing various operating conditions and folding angles is conducted to examine the impact of the fusion tip structure on the correlation characteristics of vibration and noise in the wind turbine. The test results indicate that the fusion tip structure can effectively decrease the amplitude of low-order vibration acceleration and the sound pressure level of wind turbine noise under different working conditions. Additionally, it can successfully adjust the frequency of low-order vibration. Furthermore, the fusion tip structure analysis reveals a relationship between the wind turbine vibration acceleration reduction and the noise sound pressure level. The aerodynamic and centrifugal loads influence this reduction, and there is a positive correlation between wind turbine vibration and noise. There is a direct relationship between the vibration and noise of wind turbines. Additionally, it has been determined that increasing the folding angle of the blade tip improves the reduction of vibration and noise in wind turbines.
