Collaborative configuration optimization of renewable energy generation capacity for islanded microgrid clusters: A decision-making framework based on multi-criteria flexible interaction and shared mobile energy storage

Abstract:
Collaborative planning of renewable energy generation in microgrid clusters enables resource complementarity. However, limited information leads to inconsistent investment evaluation results for renewable energy resources. Furthermore, integrating renewable energy poses a significant challenge for islanded microgrid clusters in remote oceanic and mountainous regions where cable infrastructure is absent. As an innovative solution, the mobile energy storage offers fast energy transfer capabilities, facilitating efficient energy sharing in islanded microgrid clusters. Nevertheless, the synergistic configuration mechanism between mobile energy storage and renewable energy generation remains underexplored. This study first establishes an improved FITradeoff model to realize the interactive equilibrium of evaluation criteria. And, the constrained fuzzy Shannon entropy method is utilized to quantify data uncertainty. Secondly, a renewable energy generation capacity collaborative configuration model is constructed through refined spatiotemporal modeling of mobile energy storage, optimizing both penetration rate and economic efficiency. A stepped renewable energy generation penetration rate model is also provided to align generation capacity with electricity demand. Finally, the proposed method is validated using a case study of an island cluster in Changdao County, Shandong Province, China. Results demonstrate that renewable energy investment risk is reduced by 9.4 %. The annual electricity costs are reduced by ¥875,000, and renewable energy generation penetration rate is increased by an average of 18.33 % compared with individually configuration scenarios. This paper offers a decision-support tool with both theoretical and practical value for renewable resource integration in the islanded microgrid cluster.
