Exploration methods in the Tanco mine area of southeastern Manitoba, Canada

Abstract:
A geochemical exploration program, based on detection of Li, Rb, Cs, bedrock haloes generated by blind pegmatitic bodies, has been initiated by Tanco. Test results over the Tanco pegmatite indicate a profound geochemical anomaly exists, and that the method provides a look downward of the order of 500 ft. Supportive gravity prospection has established a unique gravity signature over the Tanco pegmatite, in which the spodumene zone appears as a gravity high. Combined, the two survey types may provide pre-drilling information as to location, size, depth of burial, attitude, and degree of advancement of fractionation of a blind pegmatite body.
