Investigation of a demand-actuated defrost system for residential refrigerators
Clarence A. Bell
Energy, 1978, vol. 3, issue 4, 479-483
Abstract:
This paper identifies an unnecessary energy expenditure of appreciable magnitude and proposes a solution. Specifically, the problem concerns the relatively wasteful use of energy in the defrosting of self-defrosting residential refrigerators, freezers and combination units. The magnitude of the problem is discussed and a more efficient defrost-initiation system is proposed.
