Quick selection of industrial heat pump types including the impact of thermodynamic losses

D.M. van de Bor and C.A. Infante Ferreira

Energy, 2013, vol. 53, issue C, 312-322

Abstract: Making a rough performance estimate for conventional vapor compression and vapor recompression heat pumps is straight forward: Dividing the Carnot efficiency by 2 results in a reasonable estimate. Still, actual performance of heat pumps could easily vary to a large extent.
