Abstract:
An example performance map of an archetypal reactor for producing hydrogen and oxygen from water in a one-step thermochemical process is presented. We show that readjustment of the device in response to a change in incident solar intensity may be achieved, without changing the reactor temperature, Knudsen number, or feed rate, by simply changing the downstream pressure, with very little effect on the thermal efficiency.
