Volcanic energy

Energy, 1982, vol. 7, issue 8, 717-719
Abstract:
Quantities and rates of thermal energy released during selected volcanic eruptions are evaluated and are shown in some cases to be manageable when compared with the controlled supply of 1000 MW of electrical power. The combination of energy supply and obtaining a measure of control over volcanic destruction is an attractive possibility.
