The effects of climatic, design, and operational parameters on air humidity at the inside cover surface of basin-type solar distillers

Abstract:
The energy balances in basin-type solar distilllers derived by Lof et al. have been modified. The air at the water surface was considered to be saturated, while the humidity of air at the inside cover surface was assumed to differ from saturation by the factor Fc. The effect of atmospheric, design and operating conditions on Fc have been investigated experimentally and a correlation equation was derived.
