An interview with George Bain: The future for European management education
George Bain
European Management Journal, 1992, vol. 10, issue 1, 56-59
Abstract:
The Principal of London Business School, George Bain has adopted a positive attitude towards the internationalisation and Europeanisation of the School's courses. In this interview at LBS with EMJ's Editor, Paul Stonham, he describes those characteristics which differentiate European business schools particularly from those in North America. He then suggests a strategy to Europeanise management education, which covers students, faculty, curriculum, languages and research. Relations with companies and their views on management qualifications are of special interest. Bain concludes with his views on the current shortage of good quality faculty.
