Co-ordinative practices in technology transfer

Philippe Lasserre

European Management Journal, 1982, vol. 1, issue 1, 28-37

Abstract: Multinational companies are a major agency in the transfer of technology between Europe and the less developed countries. In this article, thirty-two cases of such transfer are analysed against the requirements of the European companies and the needs of the host countries and associated companies in the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN). The author uses an original analytical scheme to show that different practices and relationships are likely to be appropriate to different types of technological and institutional situations.
